Dear Friends,
For years, I’ve paddled through the vast, open ocean, relying only on my own strength and will to keep moving forward. Along the way, I’ve seen things that have both broken my heart and ignited my passion for change. The oceans I love, teeming with life, are now choked with plastic—bottles, bags, straws—all lingering in the water long after their brief use. These plastics don’t just disappear. They threaten marine life, disrupt ecosystems, and even make their way into our food and water, poisoning the very planet we depend on.
I founded RESUP because I realized that cleaning up plastic is only part of the solution. It’s not enough to deal with the consequences—we must stop plastic at its source. The truth is, the choices we make every single day are driving this crisis. And that’s why we need to act now, before it’s too late.
The RESUP Challenge is our way of turning the tide. Through this initiative, we are reaching young students across the country, offering them a hands-on education that demonstrates the devastating impact of single-use plastics. We’re not just teaching them the problem—we’re empowering them with real, effective solutions they can take home and share with their families. And as these young voices grow louder, they inspire entire communities to make the changes that will ultimately add up to a monumental shift.
But here’s where you come in: we can’t do this alone. To make a lasting impact, we need partners—leaders, businesses, and everyday changemakers—who are ready to stand up and take action. Every dollar you donate, every school you sponsor, every voice that joins our cause brings us one step closer to a world where plastic doesn’t poison our oceans, harm our wildlife, or threaten our future.
The urgency is real, and the time to act is now. Our oceans, our wildlife, and future generations are depending on us to lead the way. I invite you to join us in this critical mission. Together, let’s challenge the use of single-use plastic, create lasting change, and build a future that our children—and their children—can be proud of.
With deep gratitude,
